1. Agreement

These terms and conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [Registered legal name of the business], a [Entity type, e.g. sole proprietorship or private limited] with its registered office at [Registered address, City, State, PIN code, India] ("we", "us" or "our"), which operates UPSC By Aptness.ai at [https://your-domain.in] (the "Service").

By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our privacy policy and our refund and cancellation policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not require a physical or digital signature.

2. The Service

UPSC By Aptness.ai is an online UPSC preparation service. It offers:

• Daily current affairs quizzes, with questions drafted using AI and approved by our teachers before publication.
• Handwritten Mains answer practice, evaluated by AI. For students of an institute, a teacher of the institute reviews the evaluation before your result is released.
• An AI mentor that answers your study questions.
• Practice drills, progress tracking and performance reports.

The Service is delivered entirely online. Nothing is shipped to you. We may add, change or remove features over time.

3. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• You sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your account.
• Your account is personal. You may not share, sell or transfer it, or let anyone else attempt quizzes on your behalf.
• Tell us immediately at info@aptness.ai if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Plans and payments

• Some features need a paid plan. A plan gives you access to every paid feature for a stated period. The price and validity of each plan are shown in the app before you pay.
• Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• Some paid features have daily fair-use limits, such as the number of Mains answers evaluated each day. The limits are shown in the app.
• Plans are one-time purchases. They do not renew automatically, and we will never charge you again without your action.
• A plan ends at the end of its validity period. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred, exchanged or withdrawn, and unused daily limits do not carry over.
• Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. Its terms also apply to your payment. We do not store your card, UPI or bank details.
• We may change plan prices for future purchases. Changes do not affect plans you have already bought.

Refunds and cancellations are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Copy, record, scrape, resell or publish quizzes, questions, evaluations or other content from the Service.
• Use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the Service.
• Try to break, overload or bypass the security of the Service, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
• Upload or send content that is unlawful, abusive, obscene, defamatory, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware.
• Use the AI mentor to create content that breaks the law or these Terms.

6. AI-generated content

Questions, evaluations and mentor replies are created with the help of AI. Teachers approve quiz questions before publication. For students of an institute, a teacher reviews Mains evaluations before release; for students without an institute, Mains results come from the AI alone. AI mentor replies are not reviewed by a teacher, and answers to previous year questions marked unofficial are worked out by us, not taken from UPSC. AI content may still contain mistakes. Use it as a study aid and check important facts against official sources. It is not professional, legal or official advice.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its questions, explanations, evaluations, software, design and the UPSC By Aptness.ai name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own preparation while these Terms apply.

You keep ownership of the answers and messages you submit. You give us permission to store, process and evaluate them, and to show them to our teachers, so that we can provide the Service. Official government material, such as Press Information Bureau releases, remains the property of its owners.

8. No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee that you will clear any stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination or any other exam. Results depend on your own preparation. UPSC By Aptness.ai is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Union Public Service Commission or any government body.

9. Availability

We try to keep the Service available at all times, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by your internet connection, device or third-party services.

10. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost opportunities, data or exam outcomes. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

11. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for losses, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service or if the law requires it. Where possible, we will tell you the reason. If we close your account without cause, we will refund your plan in proportion to the days left in its validity.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you continue to use the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. Subject to your rights under consumer protection law, the courts at [City of registered office], India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

15. Grievance officer

For complaints about the Service, contact our grievance officer, [Grievance officer's full name], at [grievance@your-domain.in]. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
