A two-minute focus warm-up before you study
Focus Improvement is a two-minute warm-up before you study. Keep your eyes on the dot, a row of letters flashes, and you pick the one you saw. Get it right and the row grows. It helps you settle in; it will not make you read twice as fast. You can try it below.

How it works
- Warm up: Play two or three rounds before you open your books.
- Watch your best length: A drop on some days means you are tired, so take it easy.
- Move to real reading: Then go to the Newspaper Reading Trainer or the day's editorial.
Questions
- Will it make me read faster?
- No, and we will not pretend it does. It helps you settle in. Practice and vocabulary are what make reading faster.
- What does a falling score mean?
- Usually that you are tired. Take a break, or keep the session short and light.
- When is the best time to play?
- Right before a long study block, or after a break to get back into it.
